6. How much will it cost to park with Parkmobile’s system & do standard parking regulations and tariffs still apply? Answer

You will pay the same tariff as displayed on the Pay and Display machines, plus a small convenience charge of 20p each time you park or extend your parking. Please check the Pay and Display machines and information signs around you for more detailed information. Existing parking tariffs, traffic orders, parking policies and regulations all remain the same. This mobile phone parking system serves as an alternative way of paying for parking only.

7. Do I need to display a ticket & how do the Parking Attendants/Civil Enforcement Officers know that I am paying for my parking? Answer

You do not need to display a parking ticket or use the Pay and Display machine as this is a cashless parking system. When using the Parkmobile system we register your parking transaction on a central system. The Parking Attendant will check the validity of your parking using your vehicle registration number. They have a hand held computer that logs onto the Parkmobile system in real time to see a list of all valid parking events in the zone you are parked in. If there is a match then everything is okay. If not then the parking attendant will take a closer look.

8. How long can I park for? Answer

This depends on the local council's parking restrictions. You do not have to tell us how long you wish to park for* - your parking transaction will continue until you call to stop it or the maximum allowed parking period expires (see local tariff boards where you park to find out how long you can park for).

*Except New Forest (Fordingbridge, Lymington, Ringwood, New Milton, Totton, Hythe and Milford-on-Sea) customers, where you state at the beginning of your parking event the time that you wish to stay for (i.e. 1 hour). If you need to park for longer then you can either extend your existing parking session or start a new one at the end of the time you have purchased, subject to any length of stay restrictions which are shown on machine tariff boards.

9. How do I know which zone code to enter? Where can I find the zone code? Answer

Park your car and check the nearest Pay and Display machines or street lamp posts for the zone parking code. It will be clearly indicated which zone code you should enter.

10. Can I park everywhere in the city/borough using the Parkmobile mobile phone parking system? Answer

No, you can only park where Parkmobile is operating and where you can see the Parkmobile phone parking zone code displayed on Pay and Display machines and lamp posts.
